Our Problem as Off-Roaders Today
It just dawned on my why we are so behind in the battle to keep our lands open.
Take a look here and see what I mean:http://calwild.org/resources/links.php Every one of those links taps into a whole gang of people that are fighting to get our lands closed!!!
CWC has more than 5,000 members and more than 200 memeber organizations and business sponsers including the California Native Plant Society, Earthjustice Legal Defense Fund, Desert Survivors, the South Yuba River Citizens League, and the Los Angeles Chapter of the Audubon Society.
These people are fighting us tooth and nail!!!
So besides the basic facts that they are well organized and focused, here is what our problem is…TIME
- They don’t have toys to maintain.
- They don’t have trips to go on.
- They don’t have fun like we do, so it lets them focus on THEIR task at hand, getting everything shut down!!!
While we are searching the forums for tips on the best paddle tires, how to get the most HP out of our toys, or looking for new place to ride, they are doing only one thing, trying to get our sport closed down for good!
Some times it feels like we are fighting a loosing battle, but I’m not quite ready to give up. If your like me, time is the most precious commodity that you have. But you need to take a few minutes to join up and fight too, if you want to keep our dunes open!
Take a look and keep a good watch on some of the sites listed here. Get on their e-mail lists, so you can see what they are up to, and respond as needed when you come across something you don’t like!

This is a great way you can help.
The other way is to give. Donate to the people that you know are fighting. There are lots of great organizations out there. Pick one and send them a couple of bucks.
No matter how large or how small, every bit helps.
Do what you can, whenever you can. Give the fight as much of your time as you can!
Joe
